Game Preview: April 4, 2026

Week 4 of the IFL is here, with a classic matchup between the Green Bay Blizzard (2-0) and the Iowa Barnstormers (0-1), clashing this Saturday, April 4th. The Blizzard are coming off a bye week and are looking to keep their undefeated season alive when they travel to Iowa for their first away game of the season. The Barnstormers, on the other hand, are looking to be a tough opponent and get their first win of the season. 

If the Blizzard wants to continue their undefeated streak, there are some impact players who will need to step up. One of them is their consistent quarterback, Liam Thompson. Last week, Thompson had 141 passing yards, 85 rushing yards, and seven total touchdowns, which earned him the Week 2 IFL Offensive Player of the Week (second in a row). He also leads the league in both rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. Two of Thompson's three passing touchdowns against the Freight were to standout receiver Draysean Hudson. He only had two catches, but both added up to 65 yards and two touchdowns. Hudson leads the Blizzard in receiving yards this season.
 

Shifting to the defensive side of the ball, defensive lineman and Week 2 Blizzard Fan Vote Player of the Game Allen Henry was disruptive in the last game against Fishers. Henry had five total tackles, along with one sack and one tackle for loss. He, along with his other D-linemen Tevaughn Grant and Johnathan Ross, racked up a total of two sacks and three tackles for loss. This defensive front continues to make a scary impact on their opponents. 

On the other side of the ball, Iowa's impact players will need to come up big if they want to halt Green Bay's momentum. On the defensive side of the ball, two defensive linemen were disrupting the Quad City Steamwheelers at the line of scrimmage in Iowa's last game. JK Smith and Jarid Johnson were both having a day, as they combined for six total tackles and five tackles for loss. Something for the Blizzard offense to counter when they face each other. Moving to the offensive side of the ball, wide receiver Kurtis Ravenel had quite the performance for the team. Ravenel was able to haul in five passes for 72 yards and a touchdown. With the dominant defensive line of the Blizzard, Iowa might be passing the ball quite a bit, something for the Green Bay secondary to keep an eye on. 

The Green Bay Blizzard plays its first away game of the season, which means the Blizzard will be hosting a Watch Party at The Bar on Holmgren Way.
