Game Preview: March 21, 2026
Week 2 of the IFL is here, and two undefeated teams will clash this Saturday as the (1-0) Fishers Freight travel to Green Bay to take on the (1-0) Blizzard. Both teams are coming off big wins, as the Fishers dominated against the Steamwheelers with a 45-27 victory. The Blizzard celebrate a big win as well, as they beat the reigning 2025 IFL Champion Vegas Knight Hawks, winning 37-35. This will be a highly entertaining matchup, as we will see who will suffer their first loss and who remains undefeated.
If the Freight wants to come out on top, there are some impact players that will need to step up big in this one. A good duo to look out for is QB Felix Harper and WR CJ Windham. Felix Harper had a solid day against Quad City through the air as well as on the ground. He was able to rack up 95 yards and two passing touchdowns, along with 26 rushing yards and a touchdown to go with it. Two of those touchdowns were to CJ Windham, who racked up 39 yards to go along with them. Moving to the defensive side, one player was flying all over the field. Defensive back Marcus Grey was able to rack up 12 total tackles along with two tackles for loss. Another DB that showed out was Jaiden Roe, who snagged two interceptions. The DB duo will be a point of emphasis for the Green Bay's passing game to look out for.
The Freight are talented, but the Blizzard have some impact players of their own. Starting with the offensive side of things, newly signed QB Liam Thompson had a great game passing the ball as well as rushing. Thompson racked up 98 passing yards and two touchdowns, and added 59 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. This performance earned him the IFL Week 1 Offensive Player of the Week. Another offensive piece is WR Terrell Carey, who led his team in receiving yards last week with 41. The duo is something the Freight will want to control if they want to prevent this offense from putting up points. Shifting over to the defensive side of the ball, DB Giovanni Waller had a great game, racking up five total tackles and a game-sealing forced fumble. On top of that fumble was newly signed 2025 First Team All-IFL player Johnathan Ross, who racked up five tackles of his own. These players are already turning the heads of Blizzard and IFL fans.
It is the annual Blizzard Youth Jersey Night, where kids have the opportunity to watch some Blizzard football. For kids 12 and under, be sure to show up early, as the first 1,000 kids through the doors will receive an MVP edition youth jersey. For all Blizzard fans, there is an Eastern Conference Champion banner rally towel handed out to the first 3,000 fans. The Freight and the Blizzard clash to see who is staying undefeated on Saturday, March 21st. Kickoff is set for 7:00 CST.
