Game Recap: Green Bay Blizzard at Jacksonville Sharks | July 26, 2026

Welcome to the final week and the final regular season game of the IFL 2026 campaign. The Green Bay Blizzard (13-2) traveled to Duval County for a matchup against the Jacksonville Sharks (10-5). Both teams are already playoff-bound. The Blizzard have been locked into the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference since Week 18. Meanwhile, the Sharks came in needing a win to clinch the #2 seed after the Tulsa Oilers won in their matchup on Saturday night. The #2 seed guarantees a home playoff game in the first round of the playoffs. Will Green Bay foil Jacksonville's plans, or will the Sharks head into the playoffs with a win? Let's unpack the action.

The Sharks took the opening kickoff down the field, and QB Sammy Edwards found WR Jaedon Stoshak on a crossing route in the end zone for the game's first points. Kicker Marc Orozco booted a deuce for two more points to top off the nine-point opening possession. Unfazed by the early deficit, RB Kairee Robinson shook off the last defender and crossed the plane. Jacksonville fired back with another score on a connection from Edwards to WR Marquel Wade as the first quarter clock read triple zeros. The Sharks led 16-7 at the end of one.

The Blizzard had an explosive kickoff return by DB Fred Flavors to jumpstart the next drive at the start of the second quarter. After a few plays, Robinson rumbled into the end zone for his 14th rushing score of the season. The Sharks' offense repeated its last drive with another connection from Edwards to Wade. Orozco converted on another deuce attempt. The following Blizzard possession stalled on a quick three-and-out. In just one play, the Sharks went 45 yards on a wide-open go route from Edwards to Wade for their third consecutive touchdown connection. The Blizzard offense crossed midfield but then hit a 4th and long, and K Andrew Mevis drilled the field goal attempt. With under 15 seconds remaining in the half, Edwards found Stoshak for their second touchdown hookup of the night. Green Bay benefitted from a defensive pass interference foul by DB Robert Jones III, allowing Mevis to hammer through a field goal from midfield. The Blizzard trailed at the half 20-39.

The second half started with the Blizzard offense taking the field, looking for a big second half. A couple of big first downs all culminated in an eventual touchdown pass from QB Liam Thompson to WR Trevon Alexander, his 16th of the season. The Sharks' offense continued to click as Edwards and Wade connected for their fourth time, and his 13th receiving touchdown of the season. The following Blizzard sequence ended with another six points, as Thompson ran outside and into the endzone for his 21st rushing touchdown. Jacksonville began its next drive getting beyond midfield as the quarter drew to a close. The Sharks still held the advantage 46-34

Rejoining the Sharks on their offensive drive as the opening play of the fourth quarter was another touchdown from Edwards to Stoshak, the third call on this connection, and Stoshak's 15th touchdown on the campaign. As the next Blizzard drive began, QB Cole Stenstrom trotted out, led the offense down the field, and scrambled his way into the end zone. The Jacksonville offense continued its streak of drives ending with six as Edwards scrambled across the goal line. But Green Bay was not going away, as Stenstrom found Alexander for his second receiving touchdown of the game. Green Bay failed on the two-point attempt. The Sharks drained the remainder of the clock and walked out victorious. The final score was Jacksonville 60, Green Bay 47.

With the win, Jacksonville improves to 11-5 and captured the #2 seed and will host the Tulsa Oilers. Green Bay falls to 13-3. Regardless of the result, the Blizzard were already locked into the top spot in the East. Prior to tonight's kickoff, the Orlando Pirates knocked off the Fishers Freight to capture the final playoff spot in the East. Green Bay will host the Pirates next week in the first round of the playoffs. Kickoff will be at 1:00 PM CDT on Sunday, August 2nd.
