Green Bay Blizzard Sign Defensive Back Fred Flavors For The 2026 Season
The Green Bay Blizzard have officially signed defensive back Fred Flavors for the 2026 season.
Fred Flavors is a defensive back in his first season in the Indoor Football League. He spent time with the Vegas Knight Hawks as a rookie this season prior to signing with the Green Bay Blizzard. Before beginning his professional career, the 5-foot-10-inch, 180-pound defensive back showed his ability with two great collegiate programs. Now, the Atmore, Alabama, native is eager to continue his rookie campaign.
Flavors spent the 2018-2019 season to the 2021-2022 season with the Huntingdon Hawks. They compete in the NCAA Division III in Flavors' home state of Alabama. In four seasons, Flavors played 29 games and recorded 101 total tackles, one sack, one and a half tackles for loss, one interception, and 29 pass breakups, 19 of which came in his final year with the team.
Following his time with Huntingdon, Flavors attended Samford for one season of play. The 2022 season was a successful one for the DB, as he started all 13 games of the Bulldogs' season and tallied 53 total tackles, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble, one interception, 17 pass breakups (led the team), and two blocked kicks. He and the Bulldogs were Southern Conference (SoCon) Champions that year.
In the fall of 2025, Flavors signed with the Vegas Knight Hawks. He was with the team until being released on June 11. As a result, the rookie has already played great defense in some monumental and historic games. In fact, during the IFL Cup game against the Arizona Rattlers, Flavors recorded an interception. In addition, Flavors was a member of the Vegas defense that was named co-Defensive Players of the Week for their Week 7 play, when they limited the New Mexico Chupacabras to 12 points.
The IFL Cup-winning defensive back makes his way to Green Bay during the team's much-needed bye week. The Blizzard look to get healthy and gear up for another post-season run after clinching their playoff spot for the third straight year on June 12. Soon, the Blizz will be back in action for the last weeks of the regular season. Defensive-minded Head Coach and GM Corey Roberson's defense is currently ranked fifth in opponent points per game. Fans will wait to see what flavors are added to the GB defense when Fred Flavors makes his Blizzard debut on June 27, Military Appreciation Night at the Resch Center.
