Green Bay, WI (April 6, 2016) The Green Bay Blizzard finalized a trade with the Nebraska Danger for defensive back Jamie Bender in exchange for 3 players. Coming to Green Bay are defensive linemen Cory Grissom and Colton Miles-Nash, and defensive back Scott Williams. Grissom (6’3’’, 320 lbs.) has compiled 2 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, and 2 fumble recoveries so far this season from the nose guard position. Grissom and Miles-Nash (6’6’’, 270 lbs.) will be looking to improve a Blizzard pass rush which has only 2 sacks this season. Williams (6’4’’, 220 lbs.) comes to Green Bay from Hampton University and experience playing in the Canadian Football League (CFL). His size should help strengthen the Blizzard defensive backfield which is giving up 156 yards per game passing in 2016. Bender requested a trade and leaves the Blizzard leading the team in tackles (37) and interceptions (2). “Jamie Bender is an outstanding football player”, says head coach Chris Williams. “You can see that with the quality and number of players we were able to get in return. Sometimes players want to try new things and I am happy we were able to work it out to where both Jamie and the Blizzard are happy with the...

By: Arrick Upton | Green Bay, WI March 13, 2016 The Green Bay Blizzard fell to 0-4 on the season after a 37-48 loss to the Nebraska Danger on Saturday night. The Blizzard trailed by just eight at halftime (13-21) but the second half was all Nebraska. The Danger would outscore the Blizzard 22-12 in the third quarter and a few offensive mistakes as well as costly penalties would hurt Green Bay down the stretch. The Green Bay defense would lose two defensive backs in the third quarter as Keith Reynolds and Tyrell Pearson were ejected following a on field scuffle. Quarterback Matt Behrendt would go 19-30 for 178 yards and four touchdowns but his solid night would not be enough as the Blizzard defense was unable to stop the Danger offense which would be led by reigning league MVP Jameel Sewell. Wide receiver Bryan Pray would lead Green Bay with four catches for 63 yards and two scores of his own. The Blizzard outgained the Danger 298-283 and owned the possession battle offensively but it proved to not be enough as the six rushing touchdowns by Nebraska proved to be the difference maker as the Danger improved to 3-0 on the season. The Blizzard and Danger will meet again on Friday night at the Resch Center (7:00 PM). -Arrick Upton Follow on Twitter @ArrickUpton LIKE on Facebook at “Green Bay Blizzard...
